Tree / Walking Onions

I am interested in growing tree onions and was wondering if anone had any experience of growing them?
Also if anyone knows where I can get them from and could let me know that would be great.

I have read a lot about them but can't find a supplieranywhere apart from Ebay and they want way to much money for them.

Real seeds have them. They are expensive as they are quite fiddly to harvest and quite rare.

You have to keep your eye on them Snadge; mine are snug as bugs in rugs in my greenhouse. Going nowhere just at the minute.

Some kind soul sent me some last year, which have been in small pots over winter. I planted them out properly a week or so ago. They must think they're still in the pot because they haven't walked anywhere.

i want to too...how about Edulis nursery? they had some last year, but plants not seeds...and all sorts of exciting Babington Leeks etc.
anyone had any experience of these exciting vegetable items, or of Edulis?

I'm growing wild leeks aka Babingtons (I believe). I have about 40 little bulbils sprouting and one big mummy plant that may, or may not flower this year. If it does, guess what may be my exotic offering!

I think IIRC that they should flower/give bulbils in yr 2 - but with the weather being what it is - you never know. I've also got Babington leeks in my greenhouse. And Wild Garlics in the garden - gotta love alliums.

Sounds hopeful, Zaz, Thanks. I was given the plant and it seems to have survived being uprooted.
Instead of wild garlic I have three-cornered leek running wild. Not quite so pungent to walk past and I love the flowers.

Ooh these are the onions someone gave me up at the allotment, in trade for some bramble plants that I gave him! I didn't realise they are so rare! I got four plants I think - I'll let ya know how I get on with them!

Oh my god I have been looking for Babbingtons Leeks for ages! How did you get them!
