Mushroooooms anyone?

In the latest GYO mag there is an artical about mushrooms.

It got me thinking as I happen to have a really shaddy damp part of the garden and some mushroom spawn I purchased randomly about a year or so ago.

Does anyone have a mushroom bed? If so I would welcome any advice!

All i Know is you need a good hard wood. drilla few holes and put the spores in water in and stick it in a black bag for a few months then open it up etc or u could just sprinkle and hope for the best

I tried growing mushrooms one year, then tried another year. Followed the instructions to the letter. Tried laying spawn under the lawn, drilled holes in fresh hardwood logs, etc........end result, zilch, nowt.

I tried this with 4 hardwood logs and 4 types of dowels, from memory, oyster, lion's mane, shitake and something else. I'm still waiting too.
