Potatoes and comfrey roots - should they be up?

On the equinox (2.5 weeks ago) I planted some chitted Anya and King Edwards in bags, in a mix of grass clippings and compost (potatoes about 4 inches deep) and put them in the coldframe.

I also put five comfrey roots (from eBay) into 9cm pots of compost and put them in the same cold frame.

Should I have seen something by now? Should I have a furtle?

Yep me too. It's early days and we've had a cold snap.

According to my notes this year my first earlies planted in buckets in the GH on 23/2 showed through on the 2/3. My second earlies planted in bins outdoors on the 13/3 showed on the 6/4. Main crop planted on the 21/3 have yet to show.

My comfrey has come back in the last couple of weeks, but it's not growing fast yet. Hang in there Kaiya, they'll appear soon.

Early days indeed. My lotty comfrey is only just showing, and the spuds have about 3 weeks until they show (at least)

Nature keeps us guessing,my comfrey is coming through nicely,but others on our site are just showing,also am pleased my spuds are not showing yet,i got to many to cover up,still have mains to plant,

my comfrey in the ground is about 2 really good leaves worht, but some I chopped out and transplanted elsewhere last wek has completely disappeared. I'll give it another couple of weeks before I give up on it and transplant some more.

Noticed my comfrey is up yesterday, and had to cover the very first sign of my Pentalnd Javelin (planted - unchitted - on St Patrick's Day) with soil in the week. We're....OFF!!!!

Update and second check - my potatoes are indeed up (yay for patience! I must learn this virtue...) but no sign of the comfrey yet. I bought them 12th March (five roots from eBay) and would have planted them 17th-18th March (kept them in damp compost in envelope in the meantime). They were living in the cold blowaway in 9cm pots but have been evicted in recent weeks for vegetable seedlings.

Do I need to invest in some more patience?

The ones I transplanted are rearing their heads but they are very small at the moment, not more than an inch big and just the two leaves...empty one of the pots and have a look at the root. If it's mushy, it's dead, if it's hard it's probably alive (unless it's completely dried out)
