Didn't get our land until May school half term last year and spuds were still fine, although maincrop did suffer from a bit of blight. Don't panic, if you chit them you won't be far behind those of us who just pop them straight in

Still not a tattie planted -or in a polypot ! It's been too cold and wet this last couple of weeks. I do hope to make a start on them this Sunday though, but if not (and it's more than an if, as my wife and daughters are returning from their Belfast trip tomorrow night and if I say I'm off out to plant tatties on Sunday, they'll have my guts for gartes) then there's always next weekend - no real rush yet.

All in now and most showing through. I like to try and get an early harvest as the bins are required for my PSB.

Put mine in on Thursday, would have done it sooner but for dodgy knee and bad weather.

Now have dodgy knee and dodgy back. I'll live.

they need to go in the ground before I get worse. Only 11 left and most of the beans sown too. At least they don't have to be dug out like the spuds do!
