Wife bought bag of potatoes the other week and they've been stood and have started to 'chit'. Can i plant 1 or 2 of them to get more of them same?

Yes you can Jason. They may be maincrop though so don't expect early new potatoes.

Just check around there are plenty of threads, and theres not really a real need to chit them except to get them a little earlier so knock yourself out.

Main crop spuds are relatively in-expensive in the shops. If you are only going to grow a few, grow some earlies and cut your grocery bills.

I have 2 bags of earlies on the go. Trouble is, i can't remember when i put them in. Had to chuck calander away because it got damaged. Think it's been 4 weeks.

I picked out 6 chitted potatoes from the bag of potatoes my wife bought from iceland and have now planted them
