Wild garlic

Hi..
Got a large clump of this off a friend and am thinking it is wild garlic...
The only thing is,on some images I have seen, the leaves look wider than those shown on my pics
When I rub the leaves between my fingers, there is a mild garlicky smell...

Any thoughts....

That just looks like...garlic. It could be a variation of wild garlic though.

Looks like Three cornered leek (Allium triquetrum) to me!
Here's some in my garden. Its quite invasive so, if you don't want it everywhere, take steps to stop it spreading. You can use it like wild garlic, chopped leaves in salad etc. Its also not so pungent as wild garlic so doesn't overwhelm your nose when you pass by! I like it!!

Its colonising a bank and I don't mind because anything that grows there is a bonus! If ever you want any.......

I always thought of wild garlic as a broad leaved variety, these just remind me of white bluebells. As in all things gardening though there are many species, so what do i know

Invasive is definately the word... that stuff gets everywhere. i moved into my current house 4 yr ago and it was in every corner of the garden and still trying to get rid of the stuff.

Which one do you have Ian? The 3 cornered or the wild garlic? I find them both invasive!

We also have "wild onions" which we saw when out for a walk and then harvested seeds when ready. No actual onioins yet, but have hopes this year!

Veggiechick, do you harvest and use the bulbs at all? I know with the wild garlic many eat flowers and all..

I've used the leaves like chives, but, since you asked so nicely, I have just dug up a small clump, washed them in rain water and eaten one raw! It was yummy. Like a very crisp spring onion without the thick outer skin, not too strong and slightly garlicky.
Because the clumps are so matted it would be difficult to pick only the fattest of them so a clump gives you all sizes. They're all usable though.
Tried eating a flower too but that was not worth the effort - rather tasteless in comparison. Here are some photos with a pencil for scale.

For the record, I've just chopped up some of the bulbs and leaves and sauteed them, then added PSB and wilted that, laid on some slices of cheese and eaten a huge plateful. If I'm not back tomorrow please call an ambulance and don't try eating them yourself.
