Yellow garlic leaves early in the season

Hey Everyone,

My garlic seems to be growing well, but I'm worried about the yellow tips on the leaves this early in the season. It seems as though the plant is dying. I can't figure out to post a picture but I could e-mail it to you if you want to see the plants. Thanks for your help!

it might be due to them running out of food, give them a feed with a general fertiliser such as BFB or growmore.

I'm growing them in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Any ideas of what it could be?

Actually Steven, I meant are they in open ground or in pots. Never mind - could you add your location to your profile please, then it will show up on your posts (top right hand side, you will see that I am in Lowestoft).

What is your climate like there. After overwintering, my garlic are just starting to grow now the weather's warmed up a bit so I'll give them a feed of Growmore.

Hi Steven, welcome to the Vine I have given my garlic a feed of comfrey tea in the last couple of weeks as it was looking a bit bedraggled and it's perked up well. Sounds like yours needs something to give it a boost.

Thanks for the advice, I just gave it some bone and blood meal - hopefully it does the trick!
