Arrr. I don't have a big pot like that. But I may have an idea: I have some of them with the bottom cut up ( I thought in beginning to use them as rings culture for my Tom before I knew that you can grow them in Morrison bucket) so do you thing that using half compost bag at the bottom of the bucket will be ok?

Its the support for the plant that will be the challenge, PSB grows to a good size. This year my stems where over an 1 1/2" diameter, they are like a bush and susceptible to the wind blowing them over.

I like this challenge. I can use some clothes line to tide them against my tomatoes frame that I made. I mean tiding the pots. Beetween the two post there is 2 ft space. How big exactly they grow?

          Hi Sarico,
PSB can grow to 3 ft (plus!) high and are about half that wide. Cabbages can get very wide as the outer leaves spread out. You could try dwarf Kale in buckets, but remember you will be spending an AWFUL lot of time trying to keep everything fed and watered. You also have to think about the cost of compost and feed. That said, if you want to try, why not? Good luck with your experiment!

Sarico, are you growing Cavolo Nero? It's altogether a smaller, neater plant than PSB and might just satisfy your brassica lust

i will try dwarf kale (i have a free packet) plus about the watering and feeding will be no problem.. about of the cost of compost is not another problem because i can save some compost en mix it with some new one after some pots will be empty and i don't mind buy some compost. i'm not rich at all but the faxct that i don't smoke, and i only drink 1 beer a month ( sometime not even that) so i can spare some pound for the garden.. the place where i spend the most of my spare time...
