Think I needed to put a few holes in the bottom of the pots, yes yes it was on the list of things to do! :P

I think you can safely say it was, but only for filling, not emptying.

Raspberries really don't like having their feet wet and are very susceptible to root rot. Drainage holes required urgently

Oh dear, those poor raspberries! I hope you are able to save them. I have forgotten about drainage holes, or thought holes were big enough too many times and have lost precious fruit because of it.

Mine were sitting in a puddle yesterday too. They're in the ground though. Can an Australian Grape make a hole in the bottom of the ground for me please?

Yes as soon as I noticed it, I provided some holes, had one of them 2ft long drill bits so that with a hammer, nicely the water drained straight away, they look ok at the mo, will see over the next few days I guess

I'd got some radish seedlings in a small container with holes, but after all that rain again during the night they are about to float off the top of it

If you want to dry the compost off a bit....... make some newspaper sheets into rolls, make deep holes in the corners of the pots and shove the newspaper rolls in. They will act as a wick to draw the moisture out. Bring them in for a few days when it rains though.
