Got the tomato plants growing really well - 4 varieties. Got the buckets from Morrisons. NOW, what's the best medium to plant them in? ordinary MPC, MPC mixed with something else (what?), maybe take out the contents of a growbag or even soil mixed with manure. I need billions of tomatoes for chilli dipping sauce, soups, passata etc and only have a small(ish) greenhouse. Over to you guys for the definitive recipe for success.

anything as long as you feed them properly. I'd go for mpc in the greenhouse with soil/manure outside, feed with nitrogen type feed when growing, then switch to potash feed when fruiting. Find zazens tomato frame for outside to try and avoid the blight.

As above MPC or growbags. I use miraclegrow (high nitrogen) for green growth, then switch to tomorite (high potash) once the first toms appear.
Don't forget the drainage holes in the buckets.
