Perhaps we could all sell on Fleabay? Check this out for example.

Not sure about how to pack things though. Anyone one here sold plants through the post?
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

A lot of spares can go to my work for friends and the lottie shop is selling plants, so I don't feel too guilty. There is a local Garden Festival in June and our lottie is hoping to have a stall there too. Also, I confess that I have grown rather a lot of Tumbling Tom to put in Morrison buckets for all of my GD's 3yr old friends. Just right for starting their interest in the good life.

Ooooh noooo.......... I've just reread this and I have that 'perhaps I should sow some more seeds' feeling.
Ok .......deep breath........step away from the seeds...........

When I have plants in seed trays or pots that I don't have room for in the garden there's always plenty of people at the allotments who are quite happy to take them off my hands and plant them in their plots. Today my girlfriend took three seed trays with onions, spring onions and leeks in them to work because they have a works allotment. Nowt gets wasted.

Something else you could do if you have spare capacity in the garden is try something exotic or different, like yellow carrots or purple cauliflour or salsify or scorzonera. Have a butchers hook though a seed catalogue and see if anything tickles your fancy. If nowt like that floats your boat you could always experiment with different types of cabbage or potatos or peas that you've never bothered with before seeing as there are hundreds of varietys out there to choose from.

Does anyone have any idea what Dynamo is talking about?????

(Wish I could wake up tomorrow and find the good fairy has transformed my pocket handkerchief into half an acre of walled garden and "room for a pony"!)

I might have to appropriate next doors garden at this rate...
a cautionary tale..I put some packets of courgettes [ok, two packets] ready for sowing on Sunday in the greenhouse on the metal table ready for today.
The weathers been a bit carp lately as I'm sure you've noticed.
Cue water getting in through the roof [ the not-so-temporary piece of plyboard ] and settling on thetable, and wetting the two packets of courgettes, and wetting the seeds inside because they aren't double-bagged.
I now have 10 Jaguar courgettes and 10 all Green Bush courgettes in compost.....and that's before I sow the white one, and a yellow one maybe....
                too many d'ya think?

Yes what is Dynamo talking about?
We all know what we could grow IF WE HAD THE SPACE
its having too much to grow and nowhere to put it thats the problem...i've grown salsify and wouldnt bother again....and as for different types of tomatoes ...tried loads.
The number of olga pola/faworyt *toms I have killed at birth is worthy of a Horizon special.
*not necessarily spelt correctly - the right letters but not necessarily in the right order.
