  • A little tomato help !

Good morning , evening , afternoon and night when ever you read . I have 8 different varieties of toms attempted to be grown this season all of which started brilliantly until i put them in the green house a fortnight ago and things are now starting to look a bit off . I would say its my first proper year at growing toms spend most growing chillies ! Just need a little identification on what the issue may be ! Pics as follow thanks .

And a pic of the lot toms and chillies

Right these are the 3 possible causes, scorch, frost and blight. It is unlikely to be blight as its far to early in the season for that, and frost normally nips the edges of the plants -

so i would say its scorch, caused by water droplets on the leafs acting like a magnifying glass and frying patches of the leafs -

ive also just looked on pic 5 and you do seem to have water on the leafs, so this would back up my thoughts

I'm with scorch too. Water your plants from the bottom, by standing them in a tray. Try not to get the leaves wet. By the way, whereabouts are you?

If you're like me and cannot be bothered to water from the bottom, water them in the evening when the suns rays are weaker. The droplets on the leaves should have dispersed and/or evaporated by morning.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Take a look at your second picture, the leaf just below and to the right of the one you're holding, it has water droplets on the scorched tips.

I thought we dispensed with the water droplet thing last year...it's just scorched, it happens, don't worry. Your leaves will not look perfect forever, they will go brown, crinkly, rolled up etc....do not panic....

Similar situation to me but mine got worse because they were only in a blowaway with fleece at night. Took them inside for 3 whole days this week and gave them some TLC (took out worst leaves, nipped out shoots, a little water, then a general feed, and then a good water, shofting them round the house following the sun). They are transformed. Yours dont look too bad to me to be honest.

my are the same specially on the leaves that touch the blowaway cover... i start to learn from here that give too much care you end up to kill the plants ( as i did ) now after all the advice of all the grapes i start to ignore my plant a bit and they look lovely...
