Does Sweetcorn pot on ok?

Will sweetcorn survive being potted on should i need to do so if the weather doesn't warm up? They are currently in 3" pots and are 4" tall with the look of them about to flop over as there is a bit of flimsy white stem at the bottom of each plant. Will they transplant ok in to 5" pots filling them up to above their flimsy white stems?

Got any pictures? Were they sown in the 3" pots?

I always sink them lower when transplanting - and earth them up in their final positions on the plot to stop them blowing over.

No pics yet, yes they were sown in the 3" pots.

No problems sinking them when transplanting is good news

i've always sown in 3.5in pots or large (15 per tray) cell modules and transplanted straight from there to the final planting position - i've never sunk them lower and never had them blow over ....
i don't see any reason why they wouldn't survive potting on if needed ....

Go ahead, FG! I always pot mine on into "long Tom" type pots and sink them to slightly lower than the original soil level. They'll be perfectly happy - much happier than if you were to rush them out.

I only sowed my sweetcorn today it just been to cold here for me to sow in April as I usually do. They pot on fine just try not to disturb the root to much .
