We are trying growing potatoes in bags this year (International Kidney). They are growing well (keeping an eye out for frosts!) with growth now above the top of the bags. They have been topped up gradually with compost and grass cuttings. I'm not sure when I should be now feeding them. Any ideas? Thanks

International Kidney otherwise known as the 'Jersey Royal' if grown in Jersey. In good years you are looking at about 12 weeks in the ground. In MPC I would start with a high nitrogen feed in week 6 changing to high potash in week eight. What ever you do, do not let them lack for water. Once the haulm is above the bag it can act like a brolly so don't rely on rainfall.
