Frosted potato foliage

Are you supposed to cut off the frosted potato tops or just leave them?

I've just pulled off the mushy leaves and left the stalks which were looking okay. I think they 'branch out' from underground and send out new leaves from that, but don't quote me on that

You should always remove any dead or dying foliage from any plant, so that rot doesn't spread to the rest of the plant

never had badly frosted spudz,only odd bits,you are spot on sarz about the resprouting,i read somewhere that you can de-chit them a few times,although it must gradually sapp the energy,SO to anyone out there worried about their potatoes,they will be just send up new shoots,it will set them back just a little,while doing so,but every seeds determination is to reproduce,

It was -2 down here Dolly. The field's in an exposed position up by the quarry (If you saw "Vera" last week it's where they filmed the bit with the car going into the reservoir) so I don't know whether it would be better or worse there.
Grumpy has cut off the worst bits and left the parts that looked reasonably OK. Fingers crossed.
Perhaps we should give them some Heineken
