I have several tomatoes ready to go into their final bucket and I have no room in my small stayput for them, so they'll have to go outside. Is this curtains for them do you think? The alternative will be to leave them in their pots for another week or so.

I'd leave them a week Flo.

They are beginning to flop a bit now RL, I suppose I could put a bit of a support in each?

Yes put a support in and possibly pot them on before they go in their buckets. That way they are still in pots small enough to move around for a bit longer. The Lune Rousse isn't over until 21st May!

That's the problem roitelet, the biggest are in long tom pots already so the next move would be into buckets. The others are ready to go into long tom pots. You see my dilemma? The long tom pots have to stand in the bottom of the stayput and the others are on the shelves. The rest of the shelves are taken up with chillies and I have more chillies on the windowsills indoors waiting to go on the shelves vacated by the tomatoes. It's like a bloomin' resurrection shuffle.

            Auntie Flo,

I presume they are stood in saucers to allow lots of water. Could you drop a little feed into the saucer to give them a boost for the extra week. And of course pop a small cane in for support.

Put small canes in, that's what I've done, as I am two weeks off the polytunnel yet.

Mine will be a bit more exposed than that WS, up against a draughty fence so I'm hanging on a bit longer. Having said that, I might try the biggest one as a sacrificial experiment! Good luck with yours.
