  • Aubergine reduced price plants.....pics included

    Hi guys,

Was in B&Q yesterday and spotted these Aubergine reduced to 50p so thought why not they were very dry and the leaves were very shrivelled and if im not mistaken (which i probably am ) look wind burned.

Sat them in water until compost was soaked and removed them there is new growth but my question is will they be ok or was i being over optimistic? they are Suttons grafted stock and were originaly £3.98 each. The third pic is the healthier of the 2 the leaves appear to have strengthned over a couple of hours and it has some new growth.

give them a feed as well. Thgey look like they could do with potting on, and you will have to give them a lot fo heat for them to fruit.
    it's worth a go though

If you have only one aubergine from the plants you've recouped your outlay - and you've saved their lives!

Thanks for that Taff will get them potted on and give them a feed
vc my OH calls them the 'god help me plants' and mirrors your statement if we get one fruit it was worth a £1.
Have to say the plants they were still selling at full price didn't look much better than the ones i bought. When i worked at my local store it used to annoy me that they neglected the plants the way they did, which is bad considering they had 3 dedicated gardens plus helpers...when i worked nights i could often be found in the garden centre watering and deadheading plants

They look like they're grafted, so they'll no doubt bounce back and fruit like crazy!

Edit: ahh, you said they are grafted in your post. Must learn to read!
