I seriously have no idea what I'm doing as I'm so new to this growing veg lark, but this afternoon I went out and bought a roll of fleece (I did a little cartwheel cos it was half price) I dusted off my sewing machine and made 4 covers for my pea wigwam doo-dahs. I've tucked the runner beans in for the night in a strange 'wrap fleece around it all kinda fashion' and I'm hoping beyond hope that Jack frost doesn't do harm. I shall not be defeated !!!Rehab is for quitters Comment

I planted my tomatoes out at the weekend! so parafin heater on in the glasshouse and 2 candles lit in the polycarb one

Got some squashes in the ground, theyve been fleeced over since last night.
Bringing the tomatoes in from the plastic greenhouse - just in case. 3 degrees here at the moment.Comment

Was a cold one here - was only supposed to be -2C o/night but felt much much colder when I went out to grab some wood fairly late. Was a huge frost and foggy when I woke up but now bright and sunny. Horses are hanging around in the evenings in case I'm going to start feeding them soon. But they are fat as, so not yet! And with such hot days not sure when to start rugging. One of the horses gets really bad sweat rashes if she has her rug on during the day and two of them take the rug for a swim in the dam which is not really safe. Will play it by ear for a bit longer.Ali

frosty grass and cars on the run to work this morning, need to check the sugarsnap peas outside and toms and beans in the greenhouse when I get home, its looking warmer for next week though (please be right accuweather). its mid may! did I imagine it or did someone say snow in ScotlandComment
