  • Brocolli leaves turning purple

    Hi
I just transplanted my young plants into large pots and the first one that went is starting to turn a light shade of purple. What do you think it could be? Have googled around and tried the search feature here but, well you know Keeps coming up PSB.
They are in compost that I used for spuds in buckets so maybe it's a lack of nutrients? They had to get potted up and I didnt have any other compost to use. They are in the tunnel by the way.
    Thanks a lot

Do you mean calabrese or PSB.

It's calabrese. But when I put the words 'brocolli' and 'purple' in a search engine you can guess what I get They were fine and green a couple of days ago.

Brocolli will nearly always show up here as PSB. Calabrese is the word your looking for, it helps make the difference.

As to your problem, Some calabese have a light purplish tinge to their leaves. However if you did not add some fertiliser to your used compost before planting I would top dress now with BFB or Growmore. When they have settled in a feed with high nitrogen (Miracle Gro) would be good to.
