Because our flat is up a lot of stairs from the garden we keep a potty down there for the kids to use (number ones only!), I then always tip it out onto the compost heap, as I'd heard it was good for that. May start watering it straight onto the plants.

Update!! Collection whilst dressed was easy and watering the plants afterwards was a doddle as you would expect from a watering can. Apologies if this is TMI

It depends on how strong it is.
Someone who drinks a lot and pees a lot will have more dilute urine than someone who doesn't drink much.
If it's dark orange-brown, it's strong and perhaps best diluted. If it's pale lemon-juice colour then it isn't as strong.

Woody plants, such as fruit trees, currants, raspberries (probably potatoes too) will tolerate it as it comes without dilution. If in doubt, don't give it all to one plant - give a little bit of it onto several plants on a regular basis, which gives time for it to diffuse in the soil.

You'll soon know if you've been too generous as the plant will start to wilt (or, if left, the edges of the leaves will go brown) as the rich soil pulls water out of the plant. Giving the plant a drink of water will restore the osmotic balance if it has started to wilt.
But as I say: little and often would be the safest approach without need for dilution.

Just don't get it on the bits you're planning to eat.

Reminds me of when the boys were about 3 yrs old. We moved into our new home and the boys spent so much time outside they used to just whip it out and pee on the grass. Mother in law was over visiting (mad gardener, she was) and she made a remark about the dog and the little brown patches on the grass. I didn't spoil her day by telling her it was her grandsons not the german shepherd who did the damage.

.. and will be healthier too. Mr TS's is sometimes BROWN ! (he doesn't drink at all apart from a couple of black coffees a day)

Fresh urine is chucked on the garden, just as it is. No aiming, no dilution, just chuck

Feral, this summer isn't the one to try that! Not only has it not been warm enough, it's also soaking wet soil from all the rain. Drawers on for this year I think!

TS, this made me smile, but apparently ladies used to have 'containers' for there convenience when listening to long sermons in church. Large skirts protected their modesty.

VC, congrats on road testing this new model for the ladies. I am very tempted.

I do agree that the greenhouse can get a bit whiffy at times. However, any liquid gold used on open ground is very quickly diluted at the moment!
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

I just read this and mentioned it to the wife, she's worried now the neighbours will drive by while I'm peeing in the pot plants in the front window

It shouldn't do. Don't leave any unused gold lying around in pots: if it isn't immediately absorbed by the plants, pour it away (or throw it over the lawn).
It will turn to ammonia if left, and stink

Fresh urine is high in uric acid (plants love it but depending on strength maybe dilute 4 parts water to one part pee). After 24 hours uric acid turns to ammonia so then it's good for the compost.
