      I guess its one of them "buy for the point of it" gadgets rather than useful, but I guess as has been pointed out, if it was made on a better/cheaper scale, it could have its uses.

        I don't think an app is going to tell you how to keep a plant alive just yet. There are so many variables, type of plant and therefore watering/feeding needs, that a temperature and water sensor isn't going to help much apart from with those.
        In essence, they're asking you to pay 99 quid for a thermometer, and a virtual finger and 99 quid won't turn you into a gardener no matter how much you want to be one.

          One of my problems with using technology to reduce the impact of growing on resources is:

          How much resource did it take to create the technology?
          And how much impact with said technology have when its discarded?

          Actually that's two problems, but you get the idea....
