I've got 11 plants, zig-zagged like Chef UK 'cos I've only 3ft width too. Not enough room to put squash with them, so I've put cabbage between to help shade the soil (I hope). Because I have so little space I cram things in, but feed the soil well over the winter with compost and manure.
