  • In search of a rare bean

I am looking for a bean.

*link does not work. Scroll down to view bean*

I don't even know the name of it, but I dearly wish to add it to my collection. If anyone could tell me the name it would really help and if you know where I could purchase it that would help even more.

    Thank you so much.

Hi - can't get an image on your attachment.

Have a look at this link, you might find your bean here: Some heritage vegetable varieties

Hi - your link isn't working. Please could you post one that does and we will try to help.

I'm moving this out of the swap board though, as it isn't a swap you are after.

Sometimes you just have to scratch that itch and get dirt under your finger nails.

Not just beans - that site made me wish I spoke German!
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives

I managed the link and now know that the pole beans Bren sent to me are Serbian and not Siberian, so thank you very much - hope you find what you're looking for.

Thank you for fixing the link for the picture. I checked out that website and I was unable to find it. Perhaps I could search a German gardening forum. Any that specialize in heritage or heirloom seed?

Zazen999, I am sorry. I looked at the descriptions of each of the subforums and as I was looking for a particular seed I felt that I had put it in the correct place as per the description.

"Swap your unwanted seeds for ones you need. Looking for particular seeds?, try posting here..."

Yes but ... you aren't swapping (you aren't permitted to until you've made a certain number of posts ~ this is to weed out the greedy freeloaders who come on here to just take what they can)

Your post will get more views in Vegging Out than it would in Seed Swap, so you've not been "done" by having your post moved.

Thank you Two Sheds for taking the time to look. It is more than a little frustrating to search for something and not even to know the name of what I am searching for. The owner of that site is a bit of a recluse from what I have heard and as of yet I have not found a way to contact him.

I wouldn't always trust a photo, either. The beans in the photo look blue (at least on my screen) but I suspect the beans are more of a purple/mauve in real life.

What website did you find them on? (I can't see a link)

They were from this site, TS: Aktuell

If you do a whois lookup on the domain there is an address present, but no email address or telephone.

                            Thanks Chris.

First thing I noticed is ... all his photos have a blue-ish cast to them
