  • Are my veggies burning?!

My toms and beans are looking a bit brown at the edges....
They are in a polytunnel but is been so bloomin hot recently I was wondering whether they were too hot?! What can I do to save them?

sounds like sun scorch to me. In hot weather like this ALWAYS open up any doors and ventilation and damp down the floor to reduce heat. Another thing is to put in a few buckets or pots full of water. As damping down the floor, the water will evaporate and make cool down the air around it.
Trim off some but not all of the scorched leaves, the lower down the plant the better. This will force the plants to put out new growth =)

I was afraid of this last year, but as I only have a little stayput I was able to throw some cream voile curtains over the top to give a bit of shade. Not sure how you'd manage that with a polytunnel.

Can you put them outside in the shade during the day- then back in again at bedtime???
