Advice needed

Hi,
I'm new to this gardening malarky but i've planted some mange tout in some raised beds. I was going to make some trelis for them to grow up but not sure how tall it should be could anyone give me some advice?

About 3 ft- depending on variety. Does it say anything on the packet???

Are but I love to live dangerously Rustylady. There's still something we can't identify in the garden from this years crops.
Just had to look as I couldn't remember what mange tout was. Snowpeas! I'm growing some in hanging baskets on the deck. One lot is heading towards the roof and supporting themseves, about 30 cm tall. The others are hanging over the bakets edges which makes them look pretty and easier to pick.
Which is no answer to you Stevecowp but unless it was extremely windy if your trellis wasn't tall enough they'd just wave in the breeze a bit when they grew too tall?

I have sewn Dwarf Sugar mange tout and it says on the packet that it will grow to 75cm that's about 2ft 6inches in my maths language. But they are dwarf.

I've used twiggy branches cut off of an oak tree that came down in the wind for my peas, and so far its doing fine as support.

I have made a ^ shaped mound from various dry twigs and twisty bits of climbers cut down from my garden before spring. At various intervals I have placed fairly straight twigs about 2' long to confine twisty bits so they don't blow away. The top is quite open so I can make it taller if I need to. Then I planted my peas around the edge.

It's the first year I have grown peas so it may all come to nothing. I was quite proud of it when I finished so next time I'm there I'll take a photo. OH thinks I'm bonkers but it's him that loves peas!

I knew there was a reason I kept the "real" Christmas tree....the needles and branches might make great supports for peas to cling onto.....
