My wife likes your garden, Potty, because it's so neat and tidy and clean. She said "I could happily sit out in a garden like that, unlike ours, which is messy and all over the place". Though to be fair, she did agree to have a guided tour of the garden last night to see how everything is doing...the first time in over a month.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

My OH has been like that too, not very interested but now there is a strawberry appearing and the potatoes are about ready she's bucking her ideas up - I even caught her watering plants the other day!

Just wish the dog wouldn't take so much interest! Caught him eating one of my chilli plants last week.

6 dustbins I should be so lucky or unlucky dependant on your point of view. 16 Morrison pots 1st earlies. 6 dustbins and 4 morrisons pots 2nd earlies. 4 dustbins, 1 50 gall tank, 1 35 gall tank and 1 potato barrel main crop.

However I have 2 large daleks to make my own, plus I save most if not all of my compost for reuse.

Main crop last year averaged about 24lbs per bin. Loads of nice big chippers and bakers.

It can be expensive when you first start compost wise but of course you then also have the bin to store your used compost over winter ready to freshen up and use again.

My carrot seedlings were drowned and two weeks or so later and my cabbage seedlings are frazzled. All (bar the carrots) clutching grimly on, but even the lawn can't seem to grow fast enough to provide me with enough mulch! And the applied grass mulch is now hay. I think I prefer the sun though, to the floods.
