Strawberry Plants from plantoffers.com

Hello all,

A bit of a strange one, but I wondered if anybody else ordered the 12 bare root strawberry plants from plantoffers.com? They were the offer where you pay £4.90 postage but the plants are free. If so did you receive them yet?

I placed my order back on 2nd May and they took the money, but still haven't arrived so I rang them today, and they have told me I didn't order them but I ordered potatoes instead! Now, I received a set of charlotte potatoes a week or two ago and embarrassingly, I thought I had ordered those as well (as I kept pondering about whether or not to get them) I'd had a couple of drinkys. Anyway, they went from telling me I hadn't ordered any, but I was looking at my confirmation email which clearly confirms strawberries, to telling me that the potatoes basically must have been sent as a substitute-for strawberries!!

I've now got to send the potatoes back and wait up to 5 days for someone to let me know what is going on with my strawberries. Its quite amusing but am really annoyed as well. The return address is to Thompson and Morgan so they're a reputable company and I would have thought if I was going to get a substitute an email or phonecall to check if I wanted potatoes instead would have been more logical. The customer services woman was not particularly helpful and made me feel like I was the one in the wrong. I was going to order more from them but now am not so sure.

i would call them back and ask if they will cover the return costs and they may just say dont send the potatoes back. Sending them recorded so you can prove they were sent and received isnt cheap.
you might also be lucky and get a more helpfull person to talk to this time, sounds like they just screwed up but sales person diddnt want to admit it maybe.

you should not be liable for any return costs especially as potatoes are not even close to a suitable substitute, another variety of strawberry maybe.

i wouldnt order again being as customer service is useless... mistakes happen but its how its dealt with that counts.

I haven't ordered anything from this company since I met with complete indifference when I chased up the non-delivery of an item and I was eventually told it was 'out of stock'. They hadn't gone out of their way to tell me and the refund was slow.
