I must have at least 4 varieties that are at it! I'll make a note tomorrow and see whether you have the same ones.

ooooookay.........the forking toms are .....cuoer di beu, snow white, monkeys ass and the four way fork culprit is purple cherokee. Each branch on the purple cherokee is behaving as a vine tom with the flowers and then growing on .......

I forgot!!! Sorry. I know Coeur di Bue and Costoleto thingamebob are doing it.
Here, in my other greenhouse with only 3 varieties, Black Krim is forking all over the place.

Sound to me like Black Krim is a bit of a wild one .........

And I was going to put pics up of my pink brandy wine and Cherokee yesterday except that my camera card seems corrupted, couldn't save the compressed files. Anyway, I have lots of forks too!
But worryingly, some suspicious looking curled hard leaves and a bit of yellowing on a couple of plants.......please don't let it be blight.

here is the worse of mine, a few have done it but not as bad as this. The variety is "Brad's Black Heart" and it seems to have forked about 6 times.

I'm wondering as some of these pics look susspiciously alike.

Just a thought - are people pinching out the wrong bit at the top, by mistake, causing more branches to grow?

When there's a cluster of growth at the top it's easy to pinch the wrong bit out.....it's easier if you wait a little while till it's clear which bit is which

I don't pinch out the growing tips until I get 4-5 trusses outside and 7 inside =) They are no where near this right now =p

I haven't pinched out anything at the top, just a few armpits as necessary.

I don't touch the top until it's totally unavoidable ........ie I'd have to remove the gh roof. .......

oh! ok then just that sometimes it's easy to pinch out the leader thinking it looks like an armpit shoot.

                              I'll forgive you all then

A couple of my Alicante toms have forked and interestingly, though very slightly off topic, one of my California Wonder peppers forked at the seed leaves!
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive
