Some like it hot?

My gherkins (3 in x2 builder's buckets) were doing ok outside until this morning, when I notice they are limp. Is this because they like it a bit warmer like cucumbers? (Bins I know you're out there somewhere). I've untied the wigwams and put plastic bottle cloches over the plants. Will this be sufficient to bring them back to life do you think?

too cold overnight for them even my cukes in the greenhouse look sad this morning

I hope they recover.

Thanks Thelma, I did wonder if that was the problem. They're sweating in the plastic bottles now, so I'm hoping they recover.
