I cant seem to upload pictures from my phone on here yet ( lost the lead) so I can only describe it.
It's about 2 inches tall cone shaped cap and orangish.
I am loathe to even tough it or fiddle with it for fear of releasing spores, so I dont know what the underside looks like or whether it has gills or not etc. It could be the young version of a mushroom so I am not sure.
It doesnt appear too much like a death cap or destroying angel which I understand are the two m,ost deadly mushrooms about, although I cant be sure it looks too different from this picture of a younger death cap to fully discount it.
Google Image Result for http://www.dreamstime.com/death-cap-thumb4827031.jpg
Anyone got any ideas what it could be? I will try and get pictures uploaded sometime, but I dont really want to touch it untill I know. Are there any Mycologists on here who can help? Also is it dangerous to even move a poisonous mushroom what with spores and all?
Thanks
Rob
Update: I am fairly sure it is not death cap upon reading that they usually grow under large trees and not in 2 plant pots under 2 foot tall cape gooseberry plants! Also that they usually appear in late summer/autumn.
Will try and get a picture tomorrow.
