  • Carrot micro greens

I was thinning out my carrot seedlings today (must learn to sow more thinly!) and couldn't bear to just chuck out the babies. So I ate them and was amazed at how much they taste like, well, carrot! Which made me think, has anybody tried growing carrots as micro greens? I think I might give it a go - some compensation for the, ahem, lovely weather this year.
    March is the new winter.

Surely that would be 'micro oranges' unless you eat the tops

I've also eaten a few tiny baby carrots when thinning out and they were indeed very...carroty.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Mine were too small to be orange yet!

Carrot for Micro Greens - Johnny's Selected Seeds
I did grow some one year on wet kitchen paper, as you would cress. Very carroty taste and its a good way of using up old seeds - as long as you snip the green bits off in case the seeds have been treated with something ooh-nasty!
