I have two cucumber plants that are about a foot high and they are flowering and bearing cucumbers. However the cucumbers don't seem to be getting any bigger. They are taking water from the bottom. They are positioned in my conservatory and get good light and warmth. Could this lack of growth be due to the lack of sunshine with the mixed bag of weather we having of late? Any thoughts would be great.

I always nip of the first cumbers whilst they are still small. At this stage of growth the plant is usually to small to cope with producing fruit.

The temperature does drop during the evening. So maybe that's the problem. Last year all my plants were grown in my neighbours green house but I have now moved and am using the conservatory. May think about putting a heater in there to keep it a constant temperature?
