Anyone know what caused one of my chilli stalk/buds/fruits to turn yellow and break?

Well thats what just happened. I had a little fruit forming and this mornin I noticed it had turned yellow including the stalk and I touched it and moved it slightly and it just broke off.

Could it be aphids? Or just something that happens sometimes to some of the fruit. I dont want it to be a repeat as I have a 1 cm green pepper on one of my swete pepper plants .

Not pollinated is my guess. Or is the plant too dry? How tall is the plant and what size pot is it in?

it wasnt exposed to cold temperatures was it,a very peculiar summer so far..

They don't always set. You can expect to lose a few flowers just because. Depend what sort of chili it is, but some of the 'easier' types tend to hold all their flowers until they've set a good crop, but the more difficult habanero types drop a lot of flowers, even when setting. They also seem to be much more susceptible to a bit of cold making them sulk. (My experience, anyhow.)

That said, if you've got aphids on your chilis it won't help...

The chillis are on my bedroom windowsill, so theyre never exposed to full outdoors but I leave the window open a bit sometimes. My wondowsill has 7 plants on it 1 scotch bonnet which has grown very tall and looking great, a chilli plant that I lost the card for so am not sure what it is, but they form long thin chillis like long versions of birds eyes( this is the one I am referring to in the OP).

I have been using Chilli Focus for fertilizer and I water them about twice a week. The flowers have dropped off by the this time and it shows just a tiny poking out chilli forming.

Also for Rusty, this plant is about 18-20 inches tall fairly bushy at top and in a pot thats about 10 inches across. All my Chillis are in pots either 8-12 inches across.

Pot size sounds fine, how do you judge when to water? With chillies (like tomatoes) it helps them to set fruit if you gently tap the plants to release the pollen.

Hello there.I have a chiili plant that actually bears red chilli but what made me found strange every time it begins to turn to a new small red fruit it will fall/break down easily when there is breeze.What can I do to make my new fruit stay strong without easily breaking?
