Aubergine help please

I have two aubergine plants that I have grown from seed. They have been potted on into about 15cm pots and were doing quite well. I have them in a walk in blowaway. This has been left open whilst I've been away for the week but the plants have been watered from underneath and have not dried out. However I have come back and found that the leaves are drying out and turning brown - not around the edges but between the veins of the leaves. One does have some greenfly on it but the other appears to be free of pests. If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong I would be grateful - especially if they know how to solve the problem.

i have had this in the past and wondered what on earth,i had it down to either sun scorch or the spider mites,if it's just the bottom ones,then that is usuall,you say it was open,rain could have got on them,and then the sun,love to know what the actuall cause is,

i had the same 2 weeks ago when was hot... but this last week i didn't see any sunlight passing the thick clouds so... i don't know if it's scorch or not... sorry if i'm not helpfull

I did wonder about scorch but thought that would affect the edges of the leaves first. Looks like I'll have to wait it out and see what happens. Thanks.

They prefer a nice warm environment, the only way it could be skortch is if the leaves were watered and then it was baking sunny....maybe a mineral dificiency?

I have read that you are supposed to mist the leaves to prevent spider mites which is common in Aub plants. The problem with that is you cant really do it if they are in full exposure to the sun

You could try some epsom salts as you do with toms.........

In a blowaway they could have got very wet with condensation/mist(?) which forms overnight when it is cold and then scorched in the morning when the blowaway heats up quickly.

I've got something that looks identical on my marrows, that I have had growing on in a propagator indoors. It started when they put on a sudden growth spurt, and it is the older leaves, so I think they are robbing old leaves of nutrients for the new leaves...my plan is to pot them out, harden them off, and then watch them freeze and drown in our lovely Scottish summer.
Epsom salts sounds a good idea...

1/2oz to the pint of water. Put it in a water spray and spray the leaves a few times over the course of a fortnight or so.

Done this to my toms earlier in the year. They made a remarkable turn around

Looks very much like red spider damage to me but usually by the time it gets that bad you would be able to see the webs and mites.
