I fancy having a go at these this year, would it work if we was to make giant cloches or a temp poly tunnel that could go over them when the frost arrives?

I think my spuds have failed as I earthed them up too much and there has been no sign of them for weeks now and a rummage around revealed no leaves left beneath the soil. Is it too late to plant more spuds now?

                Thanks
That's what I did the first year I tried growing potatoes.I heard you have to earth them up which I took to mean cover them completely with soil each time! Now I know your not supposed to that, just earth them up to just under the leaves. Do this two or three times as they grow. They did survive the first year when I kept completely burying them but I think that was because it was quite warm and dry (not like now (
