Just a thought Nicos .........I start my peas off in pots cos once the roots have got going and the seed is used up the mice don't seem so bothered.......

Thats an old remedy and I don't think they make them the same anymore ......seem to remember some sort of elfin safety regs about camphor .....S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

Mine have only just flowered ... everything seems at least a month behind this year, or am I imagining it?

Nicos do they have proper Creosote in France ? if so dung a length of hemp string in it & use as a boundary,not only keeps mice of but also rabbits super sensitive noses don't like the smellHe who smiles in the face of adversity,has already decided who to blame

if you do manage to deter the hungry beasts but we don't see enough sun, pea shoots are lovely in salads and rissotto etc. I planted some peas to over-winter last autumn then we got such a late hot spell they all germinated and I had an unexpected crop of pea shoots to harvest before the frost!
