  • Does music really make things grow?

Being the feckless fae I am, I listen to all sorts of music and particulary Celtic and Irish 'diddly diddly' music in the car. I makes ME happy in traffic... now would it work for the plants?
and how to avoid looking a complete T***standing out in your crops with a speaker? lol

Maybe some corn does because they at least have ears.

If it works I'd like a full orchestra in the middle of my allotments this year!

Apparently loud music makes the termites chew faster.......that's why I need a sound proof house with teenagers. If it was the same for the slugs I'd be worried. I'd probably be inclined to play some subliminal insomnia tapes to the slugs first

I heardddddddddddd bit of usless info stored in my brain ( dusts the cobwebs) singing and talking to your plants is good for them theory is you breathe out carbon dioxide which plants absorb helping growing process, dunno how far this is true as i thought they only absorbed this at night !! so late night parties at the patch for me if this is true,
alan titchmarsh has often written that when hes plants things he just says grow ya bu*g**s grow

Oh I do like the sound of a good late night allotment party! Let me know in plenty of time so I can get the broomstick serviced for the trip. That would be a Social allotment then areia?

I'm prone to cursing the plants if they don't do as they are told and it's not going too badly atm.

apparently im more sociable at night so broomsticks or in my case old wind breaker poles customised, and head lamps may as well do a bit of slug hunting while ya at it lol

though judgeing by the weather youd get here quicker by dingy

Plants absorb CO2 during the day when they are photosynthesising and utilise the carbon to make sugar as a food source, the oxygen is released (fortunately for us!).

                    I've tried the following:
Metallica and Iron Maiden makes any flower heads bounce up and down
Cream and Eric Clapton makes strawberries perk up and taste better
Genesis is good for young seedlings about to begin their growing
Land of Hope and Glory & Rule Britannia makes all plants stand up
                    Built for comfort, not speed!
