  • it's like a warzone out there.

Since my slug gel got pretty much washed away in the weather I had to resort to the dreaded blue pellets of doom.
Going out today the garden is littered with dead slugs and snails!
At least I know they won't be munching my potatoes and onions any more, muahah.

I'd go around and collect them up so a hedgehog or other animal doesn't eat them.....

I just joined the offensive with nematodes and slug pellets in unison as I found 3 lovely turnips, great just the right size and pulled them up, the far side I couldnt see was so badly eaten less than half the turnip was left... gits....

I am so sick of the snugs that I too sprinkled the blue smarties everywhere. It was a massacre, but like Colin says, they're like Arnie - they'll be back.

I have discovered a fairly good deterent..comfrey leaves and stalks seem to work if you surround whatever it is with them, it only works until they dry out though.....

I resorted to Growing Success organic pellets months ago!! Also go out armed with some scissors and a torch most nights too!! Must look like a reet weirdo, snipping away, saying 'sorry' to each one! I also grew some extra Little Gem's this year, just so I could sacrifice them by scattering them around my beds.
