  • Potatoes with babies

I have 5 unplanted Charlotte potatoes that came with a planter. Instead of growing sprouts they have grown mini potatoes. Should I
    1. remove the babies and grow each one on separately,
    2. remove the babies and bin them,
    3. plant the main potato complete with babies
    4, not bother at all
    5. any other recommendations?

I'd plant the lot in pots for Xmas.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Plant the whole lot as they are.

That is my plan, but, do I separate the mummies and babies first??

No those babies don't look like anything other than swollen shoots so leave them attached.

ETA the real babies tend to have a little thin rootlet attaching them to the main seed potato and don't really look like those. That is what I found when I pulled up loads of volunteers this year.
