I love digging up spuds but once I start I can't stop. Just want to see if the next plant has more tubers than the last one - its like opening a present. Good crop DD!!
I know what you mean. I can't just grub around and pick two or three spuds, have to dig the whole plant. Fortunately I can stop there. Todays harvest will do for two or three meals.
Sometimes you just have to scratch that itch and get dirt under your finger nails.
I try to stop myself, DD! I reason with myself - say just one - or maybe two - OK then 3.
No wonder nobody listens to me as I can't even talk myself into doing the right things!!
I got loads from one plant today! Didn't weigh them but took them to a lady who donated some breeze blocks to the site. (along with peas and a cabbage from other people)
I too am totally incapable of taking one or two spuds- I tend to take one or two plants ( depending on yield) then cook the lot.
Hardest bit is not getting stuck into them all -once they are rolled in butter and chives!

So glad I'm not the only one with no self control, Jelliebabe When I get to the end of the row, I want to replant them, just for the pleasure of digging them up again
