And along came another blight question!!!!!

Sorry about this one.

I've read some/a lot of the other posts on blight and the more I read the more confused I get. So a couple of "simple" questions;

1. Is it blight?
2. What do I do right now?
3. What do/can I do next week, next year, apart from rotate?
4. Do I have to inform anyone?

The red pot's with the weird spots were Red Duke of York, they went the quickest. The other two are/were Cara and International Kidney. I'm guessing the absolutely crap weather recently has played a big part in the demise of the crop, but, hay ho what can you do??????????????????.

White spots on my potatoes

you'll get this when the ground is too wet, as it has been for many of us ... the spuds are fine to eat, but they won't keep well ....

Yes it looks like blight to me cut all the tops off and leave the potatoes underground for a couple of weeks before lifting. The blight spores on the surface should then be dead when you lift them, so you can store them.

You can lift some earlier for eating right away though.

Of course it has been wetter this year, but you can get blight any year - it's one of those things.

and yes the white dots are 'swollen lenticells' it sounds very painful

Thanks for that, it's not been wet here more like monsoon.

I'll leave the rest in the ground and see what happens, foliage is history, bagged and awaiting a large bonfire.
