i have just been out to check on my potatoes and found that a few of the leaves have got brown spots on them. I was wondering if this is blight

Hmm.
From my experience Blight usually starts at the edge of the leaves and moves inwards, devastating everything in their path.
Could be a simple (if that's possible =p) Tomato leaf mold. To be safe, cut off any leaves that look like that, bin them (Do NOT compost) and then sterilise the equipment you used to cut the leaves off

Look on the underside of the leaves, if its blight the spots will have a white mouldy fringe in this damp weather.
