VC I have to say that I had a poor germination rate & a couple of seedlings died as a result of the cold spring but this particular plant has been exceptional.

I will be trying Baribal next year though, as recommended by Colin & I won't be starting them so early next time!

Nice weather is here for a few days so fingers crossed for you & your cucs

Thanks Choc! The sun's out here too and.... wait for it....yesterday I ate my first Minimunch cue. It should have be a Micromunch really - one big bite and it could have gone, but I was very disciplined - cut it into thin slices and savoured each one.
Here's hoping for lots more cukes for everyone

If your interested in Baribal this is a pic taken today (please note the sun).

Its now well on its way across the GH roof and at this time there are 14 cumbers of varying sizes on the one plant.

This is my best of two plants, well I wouldn't show you the worst would I. The other has just reached the GH roof so shoould be providing cumbers later into the season

Colin where did you get the seeds?

I've got to say even though my one plant has done really well, yours has more cucumbers.

Btw, mine were DT Browns Socrates F1.

I got my seeds from Suttons it is an F1 so its new seeds every year. Having said that its never let me down since I began growing it so I consider it worth it.
