  • Lemon Cucumbers!

Well thanks to stella a little while back, I was donated 3 lemon cucumber seeds, the first two did nothing, but then the third one started to grow.

and over the last few days I have my first lemon cucumber pollinate and start looking like a cucumber, only the size of a large grape so far, but woop woop still.
there are also a few more males that look to be pollinated but the flower has not fallen off yet, so early days.

how long do they take to grow/ripen?

I also had seeds from Stella 2 plants drown in all the rain we had then the third looked a bit floppy so I cut the top off and put it in water eventually it rooted and is now potted up and like yours it has tiny fruit.
I'm really looking forward to tasting these cucs.

I've had a couple now, they were nice, a lot more seeds in them than normal cucumbers, but tasted very nice

If you let them get a bit big and they get tough skins then they're nice sliced and used in stir fries.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've got 3 plants growing and I pick when they get a little bigger than a golf ball, but smaller than a tennis ball. I've only eaten one and given the others away. Looking forward to eating some more though! It's my first time growing cucumbers and they seem to be well, loads more fruit to come.

I've got two of these growing. Only picked 2 cukes so far, the plants have started going crazy, though.

I've also got two gherkin plants, which have had more cukes, with tonnes more coming, need to get some pickling stuff, sharpish.

                Looking good DG

I've checked mine this morning and they're slightly bigger than pea sized so I've a while yet to wait.
