At last, Grapes who know what I mean by greenstuff!! Thank you
I may still be mad but not when it comes to greenstuff
BUT we still don't know what it is and why its there. It must have a purpose, surely?
That's just the answer I needed, taff. I never thought to Goggle for Green stuff Seems I'm not the only one to call it that.
All I can say to the Doubters amongst you (naming no names) is - your tomatoes must be tasteless
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
Mine hands were green earlier when I was trying to get some daylight into the jungle, now they're black cos I've just made blackberry jam .......Only time my hands ever look clean is when I've been on holiday .
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig a batch of jam is always an act of creation ..Christine Ferber
Interesting...I've never had any 'green stuff' on my hands after handling my toms, perhaps it requires a certain skin chemistry for transference to take place
When you say "Makes them smell nice", are you referring to tomatoes or tomato plants because I've only ever noticed a pungent, nasty smell from tomato plants and my is wife always saying "You've been messing with your tomato plants again, haven't you? I can tell...you've brought that awful smell in with you". Maybe it's one of those 'love it or hate it' Marmite type scents, or maybe I need some...green stuff!
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive
That's wierd Pa. I only have to brush against them to turn green
The smell of greenstuff is, to me, the essence of a greenhouse! If I could bottle it and dab it behind my ears I would Pungent yes, but nasty, no, not to me! I like Marmite too

I guess there's accounting for taste...or scent in this case. It doesn't rank as highly as coffee on the foul-scale though (according to my nose) and many people seem to like that too. As for the green stuff...
