  • Scotch bonnet Chillis have no heat

Is this because they are too immature? They are about an inch long, but green/light green. They actually taste quite pleasant, certainly not unpalatable like my unripe bell pepper a month ago. They just arent hot whatsoever, is this due to being unripe or they way I have grown them?

    Thanks

    Rob

It's because they're not ripe Rob. Leave them on the plant until they change colour to red or orange.

Aye, wait until they're orange/red and try again. I've only had one ripe Cayenne chilli so far but it had a nice bite to it, whereas a green one which was accidentally knocked off tasted okay but had no heat at all.

My cayenne have plenty of fruit but are all green yet and the habaneros haven't even fruited yet. Patience my friend, patience.
