Before I went on holiday I had 6 large tubs of potato plants, plus 10 Morrison buckets with one plant in each (an experiment in True Potato Seed).
Anyway, all the plants were full, green and bushy.
I also put 3 marmande tomato plants that had become too large for the greenhouse outside as well.
I had a neighbour water everything for me and she obviously did a good job because the courgettes, peas and everything in the greenhouse all looks generally healthy and well.
However, the potato plants? Well, the leaves and stalks have turned yellow - and the leaves look like they have been stripped off the plants. Some of the Morrison tub plants have no leaves or stalks left - almost as if they have been eaten by something.
The outdoor tomatoes look ok - some yellow leaves, mostly towards bottom half the plants so could be splash back. However, a couple of fruits on the outdoor plants have large spots on them that are clearly rotting. I have removed them.
I grew potatoes last year without any problem, but had harvested them by now, and I have grown tomatoes for the last 4-5 years without any issues.
Could it be blight, or is it just the potato plants naturally dying off at this point?
