Terrible year for veg, but at least I have some chillies!!!

According to the older chaps at my allotment, this has been one of the worst years for growing veg....my half empty plot holds testament to that!!! The one success I have had has been my chillies in my GH at home.

I had a bit of a harvest and am realy pleased with the results.

looks like a great harvest, my chillies are at last ripening especially the cayennes and ornamentals like aurora, twighlight and Riot. The new hot chillies like habenero and Scotch bonnets are fruiting but will take another 2 months to ripen.

I love chillies but I could do with some other crops this year, its been a disaster

all my chilli's have done great, my twilights are amazing and even my orange harbenero's have ripened up well.

The orange are ones are Cayenne (Chayenne?), the red thin ones are Friggitelli (sweet) and the bigger red ones are called minimix (sweet). I still have numex twighlights that are still purple, ari russian flying saucers that are slowly ripening and tri colour variegata that are also purple.

The photo was taken on my iphone using the hob extracter fan light to light them!

I grew tomatoes last year in my GH to varying degrees of success, but have really enjoyed my chillies. Next year I think I will try more varieties.

I have loads of jalepenos, although I cheated with those as my mum gave me the plants already established earlier in the year.

However, my purple beauty has 2 fruits on it now, the sweet pepper plant has lots of immature fruits and my Numex Twilight are in flower. I have a greenhouse that I can heat so I am hoping to keep them going through autumn.

Mine wouldn't set at the start of the season so are well behind. There are loads of fruit now but it is still small. Still I only grow them to give away.
