  • Here come the tomatoes!

After having harvested in 1's and 2's from at least 8 plants they are now all starting to ripen ... it is going to be a tomato frenzy!

Will you fill a bucket for me while you're there Bins? There's no glut of tomatoes forecast here I'm afraid.

I'm likely to be dusting off the recipe for green tomato chutney unless we get a lovely late summer!

Well I'm a bit further north than sheffield and I'm going to consider myself very lucky having seen this thread.

I picked about 10 today when every other day it has been one or two. Yes, I think my glut is coming.

I picked 7 ripe tomatoes today & used the 3 I had in the fridge for our tea this evening. Looks like it won't be long before more are ready as they are starting to look a little rosy (at last).

I certainly won't be sowing as many tomato seeds next year as they have taken over!
Glad to have found some tomato recipes on here that I can freeze for pasta sauces, etc.

Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon.
