Red cabbage going to seed

First time in 37 years of gardening that my red cabbage have gone to seed in August, has anybody eles's?

I don't have any red cabbage, but I have got a winter romanescue cauli that has gone to seed already - the other seven around it are all still perfectly fine, though.

I have no idea what caused this one alone to bolt.
